OBITUARY

DEATHS IN PROVINCE.

The death of the oldest settler on the Opouriao estate, Whakatane, Mr William Morrison, occurred on Saturday morning, at the age of 88 years. Mr Alfred Rogers, aged, 73 years, died at Hamilton on Friday evening last. Deceased resided for many years in Blenheim.

One of the oldest of the Thames pioneers, Mr Richard Kenny, died on Saturday, at the age of 83 years. Deceased arrived in Auckland in tho ship .Empress in 1865.

Old residents of the Waikato will learn with regret of the death of Mrs J. A. Newsham, in her 60th year. Tho late Mrs Newsham was the- first white girl born in the Alexander (now Pirongia) district.
