CODLIN SPREADS TO FIJI

It is stated that the dreaded codlin moth has at last penetrated the sen barrier between Fiji and the Dominion. The Department of Agriculture has issued a notice, stating that about the middle of March its officers examined apples and pears imported from Australia and New Zealand from which, larvae of the codlin moth had already escaped. Representatives of the departments in Wellington and Sydney had brought assurances that every effort will be made to ensure that future shipments of fruit are not affected.
