CAMBRIDGE EXECUTIVE MEETING DATE FOR LOCAL TKOTS. A meeting' of, the committee of the Cambridge Trotting Club was held in the office of the secretary (Mr W. Stopford) on Tuesday afternoon, when the President. Mr V". Oornaga, presided. There were also present Messrs. B. H. Bishop. M. Carroll, Geo. Morris, C. Dunmore. C. Barclay and the secretary. A letter was received from the Secretary of the N.Z. Trotting Assn. advising that as the date of the Dominion Conference was fixed to take place at Wellington on July 8, it would be necessary for the local club to make application for a date for a trotting meeting prior to the holding of the Conference. In reply to Mr Carroll the secretary stated the club at present have the necessary permit to hold meetings. Discussion ensued as to whether the club should hold a meeting about November or later, in or about April, 1925. The chairman advocated the introduction of a country circuit of meetings and said that other country clubs would be willing to fall in with this idea. With such a circuit it would ensure the. success of eountry meetings. The mem- ; bors present, were favourably disposed to the idea and the matter will receive further consideration. The secretary was of opinion that the local club should make a strong offort to have a meeting early, about November and in the event of a tote permit being granted, and with the holding of such meeting eloso to the Hamilton trots, the club would be ensured of a successful fixture. Suggested Date pf Meeting. It was resolved that the secretary get in toueh with Hamilton regarding the date of that Club's fixture and that the Cambridge Club hold its first meeting one week prior to the neighbouring Club's fixture. On Wednesday morning the secretary informed us that communication had been made with Hamilton, and it had been decided to forward to the secretary of the N.Z Assn. for consideration, that the date for the first Cambridge meeting be Saturday, November 29.. Election of Committeemsui. Mr Geo. Morris was duly elected a member of the Committee.. Subscriptions. The secretary drew attention to the matter of members' subscriptions for .1923-24 season which ends in July. There were a very large percentage of members unfinaneial and notices to that, effect will be sent to these members in the course of a few days. The executive are hopeful that members will readily respond to the notice and thus help to reduce the present liabilities of the club. The matter of additional totalisator permits is now being considered arid the secretary informs us that the prospects for the Cambridgo Club obtaining a meeting with the totalisator are particularly promising.
