MAIN HIGHWAYS
THBBE MATAMATA BOADS DECLABED.
The chairman of the Matamata County Council has received official intimation from the No. 2 District Highways Council to the effect that it has decided to recommend that the following roads be declared main highways, viz.:—
Hamilton-Rotorua Road. Waitoa-Taupo Road. Matamatn-Tauranga Road
The Board's letter also intimates that the Board has no power to subsidise any work carried out on their roads prior to the date of their declaration as highways. It also states that any portions of tho above roads situated within the boundaries of Boroughs are omitted from the declaration of main highways.
