The Auckland Education. Board has authorised the appointment of Miss H. Carey as. assistant at the Roto-o-rangi School. Air J. Goodwin, of Matamata, has been appointed agent for the N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Co., Ltd., for the mnta and Cambridge districts. ]SC' The Hon. Major Benjamin Hari\is, V.D., has resigned from the Legislative Council because of ill-health. He has sat in the Council lor 2(5 years continuously, and was a member of the House of Representatives from September 24, .1879, to November S, 3881. A most interesting wedding was celebrated at the Baptist Church, Cambridge, on Thursday afternoon last, when Miss A. C. Davies, daughter of Mrs and the late Mr David Davies, was married to Mr J. Clark, son of Mr J. 11. Clark, of Hamilton. The ceremony was performed by Pastor Clark, of Auckland, grandfather of the bridegroom. Details of the wedding will appear in our next issue.
