It was pointed out that it. would have to be held about August or September at latest, or else postponed until early next year, as it was most inadvisable'"toy hold such an effort after September,. as it would dislocate tho work of the school during a critical period of the year, when teachers and children were busy preparing for examinations. Several members expressed the opinion that early autumn —Feb"ruary or March—would be a very much more convenient time for holding such 'a function as the proposed carnival, both as regards tho school's welfare arid the public point of view. It was ultimately decided to hold the carnival as soon as possible after the ssembiing of the school after the summer holidays, the carnival to commence about the middle of February, and close at the end of March. It was resolved that the sub-commit-tee already appointed set up two committees to keep the whole effort under view, and to make preliminary arrangements for the function.

A public meeting will bo hold early in the New Year to set up other committees and take necessary steps to Garry out tli'o scheme by which it is hoped to raise at least £IOOO for this good object. Improving the Grounds The chairman was instructor! to interview the Education Board with respect to the tenure of the school site, with a view to making improvements to same. It was also decided to make enquiries with regard to securing a plan of planting and improvements to the grounds, that any work done might He in accordance with a proper plan.
