BOARD’S POLICY FORMULATED

The policy of the Taupo-Putaruru. Railway Board was formulated at a
meeting here. The Board resolved to endeavour to complete the purchase of ' the TaupoTotara Timber Company’s line and plant. In the event of the Board failing to effect a purchase on acceptable terms the matter will be placed before the timber owners and ratepayers with a view to obtaining an expression of opinion as ho what step should be taken to provide railway conveniences for the district. The Police have investigated Kissel's statement that he also murdered a girl named Elsie Prestige, a former schoolmate. and no such girl is known to be residing in Canterbury. The statement is believed- to be a delusion, especially as Kissel at night raves about killing horses.
