FILM UNDERSTUDIES.

Cinema understudies are by no means unknown in the film-world. Where seemingly dangerous exploits are to be indulged in by the hero and heroine, deputies for famous “stars” are occasionally engaged. A British club, a post-war product, and known familiarly as the “Stunt Club,” or “Suicide Hundred,” own members willing to leap from aeroplanes, parachutes, or steep clifis into the swirling waters beneath at any period of the year. Duckings and motor or train accidents are also specialities of this very versatile club. The fee seems a secondary consideration, so far as performers are concerned. They work for the honour and fame of the gathering to which they proudly claim membership.
