TIRE BRIGADE MATTERS

(To the Editor). Sir, —Your excellent leader calling attention to the need of a siren to enable an efficient alarm to be quickly given when a fire occurs will, I feel sure, be . endorsed by the bulk of our citizens. To come quickly to help save a home, and perhaps a life, is one of the most noble efforts any one could make, and anything working to that end should meet with the approval of all citizens. Your suggestion that the surplus funds from the collections at the community "sing" following the one to-night should be devoted towards helping buy a siren should appeal to the committee and public. Cambridge has always been noted for its liberal response to all calls to help others, and a little help for itself would not now be out of place. I think Mr Dickinson and his committee have only ,to fully consider the matter as set out in your •leader, and the assistance to secure this great.asset for the town will be assured. —I am, etc., CITIZEN. Cambridge, August 22, 1922..
