COMMITTEE MEETING PURCHASE OF BOOKS The regular meeting of the committee of the Cambridge Public Library was held at the library last night, when there were present: Mr H. D. Dallimorp (presiding), Eev. Mortimer Jones, Messrs H. Alan Bell, G. G. L. Taylor, J. V.. Cocks and Frank Penn. The secretary (Eev. Mortimer Jones) presented a statement, showing that the committee had a credit balance in hand if £7O 0/6, but th'ere were a good many liabilities to meet. Accounts were presented amounting to £53 15/9, and these, with one exception, w r ere passed for payment. The balance due for installation of electric light globes was again held over, pending a satisfactory . arrangement with the contractors. It was decided to secure the N.Z. Sporting and Dramatic weekly for the reading-room table, and to revise the list of magazines now being received at an early date. Tho committee resolved to purchase another batch of new books. It was reported that tho “suggestion book” was not being availed of, and it was decided to place this book in a more prominent position, so that members of the library might enter names of books which they would like the committee to purchase for the library.
