The Wanganui branch of the New Zealand Labour Party on Thursday resolved "to contest the. Wanganui seat at the general election against Mr Vciteh, the sitting member." Mr Win. Bell, of Paterangi, brother of Mr H. Bell, of Cambridge, has just undergone a very serious surgical operation at Hamilton. He was in a precarious condition on Thursday, but w* are pleased to say that later reports are of a much more cheering nature. His many friends in this district will trust for a speedy recovery.
