THE CAMBRIDGE Y.M.C.A.
(To the Editor.)
Sir, —The local Board in making an appeal to the public of Cambridge and surrounding districts for funds to assist in carrying on an excellent work amongst the young men and boys of the community. Over £2OO has ocen spent within the past few weeks in improving the building and equipping it. A caretaker has been appointed who will be in constant attendance while the buildings arc open and supervise the conduct of the lads. The business men who have taken a hand in placing the institution on a sound working basis would not be making this appeal if the money was not needed, ana the public may rest assured that any funds subscribed by them will be wisely expended. Wc desire to help the lads and the young men all wc possibly can, and we earnestly ask the co-operation of all who arc interested in their welfare. The membership has been recently increased to 164, comprising 70 men, 53 lads and 41 young boys. The rooms will be open each week-day evening. It is proposed by every possible means to surround the young members with good influences, and so help to turn out the best type of citizen. I trust the appeal that is now made will find a ready and wide response.—l am, etc., T. F. RICHARDS, President, Cambridge Y.M.C.A.
