; <s>_ , SUNDAY SCHOOL ANNIVERSARY. SPECIAL SUITABLE SERMONS. The services in connection with the St. Paul’s Methodist Sunday School Anniversary were held on Sunday last the preacher for both services being the Rev.G. S. Cook. The children, who had been trained by Mr E. Kemsley, sang with spirit and sweetness, assist-. cd by the choir. The preacher took for his . text at the morning service, "He called a little child and stet him in the Midst.” The value and importance of the child in our midst was pointed out, and the speaker illustrated the manner in which one man dealt with the problem by an interesting character sketch of Robert Raikes, the founder of Sun-, day Schools. In the evening the text selected was “ Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.” The need for training for the sake of efficiency in every department of life, and the methods of training the child in the home., and Sunday School, and laws and institutions of the state were dealt with. There were large congregations at both services. ' The tea for the children and anniversary social for friends, in connection with, the Anniversary, is to be held in v - the supper room of the Town Hall on J Friday evening next. j
