Mrs H. O. Bridges left for her homo in Auckland this afternoon. Colonel Braifchwaite went to Auck land yesterday and returns on Monday.
Colonel and Mrs Logan arrived by yesterday’s express, and are staying at the National Hotel.
Mr Bennett, of Auckland, who has been' officiating as judge, at the Chrysanthemum Show, returhed heme to-day.
The new Vicar of St. Andrew’s, Rev. Cr. b. Cruickshank, arrived in Cambridge on Thursday, and has taken up his residence in Bryce-street. Mr John Wilson, of Wilson’s Portland Cement Co., Auckland, has been in Cambridge conferring with the •Borough Engineer regarding the road improvements, and left by today’s express. Mr Wilson seized the opportunity of paying a brief visit to the Horahora hydroelectric works.
Rev. G. Mortimer Jones, vicar ol St. Andrew s, was a passerger by to*day s express for Auckland en route for England. He proceeds via Australia and .Capetown. A number of his friends assembled at the railway siatiou to bid him bon voyage and a safe return.
-Among the promotions of officers of the New Zealand Staff Corps, just gazetted, we notice the name of Lueut Bruce Sonerville Hay who is promoted to the rank of captain Captain Hay is well known in this .district, and ins . promotion will be pleasing news to his many friends.
