Baptist Picnic.
The combined picnic of the Cambridge Baptist Church and Sunday School was held on Thursday last, at Mr M. Butler’s farm on the Hamilton Road, resulting in one of the most enjoyable outings ever held in connection with the social I side of the work. An ideal spot having been chosen,and the weather perfect, a happy day was assured for the large number who gathered bent on filling the day with pleasure The races for the children afforded keen enjoyment, as did the events for the older ones, and in many cases the events were keenly contested. “ Mixed Boots.’’and "'1 bread the Needle” rices cau-c 1 considerable merriment hy their comiial nature. Butler for the u-e of the picnic ground, and m the Backhouse family and all others who had contributed towards the great . success of the outing.
