Next Week’s Tour.

IN THE CAMBRIDGE DISTRICT

ABOUT 60 OFFICERS EXPECTED.

INCLUDING GENERAL GODLEY.

Operations in connection with next week’s tour of staff officers and senior territorial officers from all parts of the Dominion, begin at 3 p.m. on Monday, and conclude on Thursday afternoon. The scope of the tour extends over a considerable area of the district. The officers engaged will be divided i ito two opposing factions, red and blue, and military evolutions will be carried out just as if the officers were at the bead of a body of troops. All plans and details are confidential, and the participants in the operations will not be informed of the imaginary c editions which have been arranged until an actual commencement is made. About 60 officers are expected to >3 present, and these will be quartered i i the various hotels in Cambridge. .those from the South Island leave t: >day and join the Wellington contingent in that city in time to leave by the night express on Sunday evening. Among those leaving Wellington will be Major-General Godley, Commandant of the Forces, and Colonel Heard, Director of Staff Duties, and Military Training. A lurther contingent of officers will be picked up at Palmerston North, Officers from the Auckland district leave on Monday morning at 9.15 o’clock.
