Education Boards.

TheGreyfcown Standard, in discussing the question of the method of electing Education' Boards, suggests that if members of these Boards were elected on the popular franchise, the party question would be introduced, which it is very desirable should be avoided. We agree entirely with our contemporary. The education question, like that of defence and agriculture, should be removed entirely from the realm of party politics. Still, we can conceive a method of electing Education Boards which would be much more satisfactory than that which at present operates.' We suggest that the elections take place on the same date as the election of School Committees, and that every householder who is entitled to vote for a School Committee should exercise his or her vote in the selection of a member of the Education Board. This would, we think, create renewed interest in educational matters and would widen the franchise without introducing party. —Age.
