A fire broke out on the passenger steamer, J A. Kilborn, while off the coast bn Wednesday night, by which a few passengers were injured, While an oiler was replenishing the fuel oil-tanks he slipped and flames arose. The ventilators fanned the blaze which quickly enveloped the ship. The wireless operator, while sending calls for help, was driven from his room by the smoke and flames. The crew worked all night and saved the ship from sinking and she crept to Eureka, California. Two years ago tin Kilborn was burnt to the waterline.
