ALLEGED WRONGFUL DISMISSAL.

An action brought'-'against the Crown by Arthur Broad Reynolds, lately a landing waiter for the Customs Department, for £BOOO damages for alleged wrongful dismissal, commenced yesterday afternoon before Mr Justice Sim and a common jury of twelve. On June 16tn, 1909, plaintiff, who has been 26 years in the service, was suspended for being absent without leave, insobriety ; and disobedience. The charges were considered by a Board of Inquiry and plaintiff was dismissed. He complains that the Board's action was illegal and unjust.
