STEAMER TOFUA STRIKES A REEF.
IN THE FIJI GROUP. Suva, yesterday. ihe Union Steamship Company's steamer Tofua struck the reef in Navula passage, andjremained hard and fast. Efforts made to get the steamer afloat by means of her engines having failed, news of the mishap was sent t6Lautoka, a distance of about eighteen miles, and thence dispatched to Suva. The Fiji Government steamer Ranadi, which was fortunately in'port, was promptly dispatched tr the Tofua's assistance. The extent of the Tofua's damage if any, is not stated in the message received.
