As evidence of Thaw's insanity, a tonac,y expert quoted the prisoner as once having said : " I don't see how such a girl as Evelyn Nesbit can care for White, who, with his reddish hair, looks like an ape." Regarding the rumor that the Urewera Country was open for prospecting, Mr Poland, M.P., has received the following Jas. Carroll): '• The regulations re open, ing up of Urewera Country for prospecting are in the hands of the Law Officers. I am trying all I can to bring them out as soon as possible. They will be duly Gazetted and a day fixed for all and everyone."
