TARAWERA-WAIMANGU ROUT The most popular excursion irom Rotorua is the round trip to Lakes Tarawera, Rotomahana, and the mammoth Waimangu Geyser, which frequently hurls its water, mud and stones a thousand feet skywards. The coach route passes the beautiful Lakes of Tikitapu and Rotokakahi, and lands passengers at the ruined village of Te Wairoa.
