VERNOR’S ROYAL IRISH DRAMA CO.
The evergreen and popular Irish actor and author, Mr Chas. E.-Yernor, is announced to make his re-appearance at the Alexandra Hall on Monday and Tuesday next. The first production, “ Arrah-na-Pogue ” is a play written by the well-known playwright Dion Boucicault, who said Mr Yernor’s pourtrayal of “ Shaun, the Post ” was one of the finest interpretations of his character. The piece bustles with droll Irish humour and describes the life of Irish peasantry with vivid reality. On Tuesday, Robert Emmet will be staged. This play has , been written, and staged by Mr Yernor throughout England and America with the highest success. Everyone is familiar with the story of “ Robert Emmet,” the life of who was devoted to the well being of Ireland. When in Court Eminent was said to have made an impre.ssive and astounding speech relating to Plome Rule. During his trial Mr Yernor will repeat the words which so stirred the soul of every true Irish patriot. Mr Yernor will be supported by a company of high-class artists, including Miss Rene Gough, and several well-known favorites. Every attention is given to the mounting of the plays, and patrons may rely upon an enjoyable evening. The box plan is now on view at Mr E. J. Wilkinson’s, Victoria-street, where seats may be' booked without extra charge.
