ASSAULTING HIS FATHER

Auckland, This Day. A ycmg man named Wilfrid John Speary, residing with his father, John Speary, at Remuera, was arrested on a charge of assaulting his father so as to cause him actual bodily harm. The father, who had his face badly cut and several of his ribs fractured, was taken to the hospital. PAINFUL ACCIDENT. Auckland, This Day. A imddle-aged man named John Shepherd was admitted to the hospital suffering from a fractured leg. The injury was sustained by timber falling upon him. THE BUTTER TRADE. Wkllington, This Day. With reference to the report in the London market cablegram that the quality of the bulk of colonial butter on offer was unsatisfactory, statements made by the heads of firms engaged in the butter trade make it practically certain that the message refers to Australian butter. All butter exported from Australia and New Zealand is looked upon as colonial butter.
