NEW SYSTEM OF HANDICAPPING. TROUBLE AMONGST THE TROTTERS. A BOYCOTTED MEETING. By Telegraph.--Press Association. Auckland, Friday. There has been ar. agitation, originating in Christchurch, from the New Zealand Owners', Trainers' and Breeders' Association, to secure an new system of handicapping, under which no trotting burse shall be handicapped lower than its b n ßt winning time. The Auckland Trotting Club considers lliii would ruin trotting, and declines to accept it. Yesterday the Auckland branch of the Owners' Association sent a mandate to the Auckland Club demanding an answer by 8 o'clock as to whether the Auckland Club would introduce the new system of handicapping. The club held a spneial meeting, and decided to refuse. The owners and breeders there upon resolved to boycott the Auckland Club's Spring Meeting, which takes piice a fortnight hence, and fur which catries close tonight. The association has further issued instructions to its members to refrain fruin nominating their horses.
