THEOLOGIANS AMAZED

AT GERMAN ASSERTIONS. Received 9.5 a.m, Ist. London, September 30. Leading theologians oi all Protestant denominations have issued a reply to the German appeal to evangelical Christians, especially members of the World's Missionary Conference in" Edinburgh, reciting the German view of the political causes of the war. The reply emphasised the salient points of the diplomatic negotiations, and expressed amazement that a document signed by German theologians, whose honesty and good faith is unimpeachable, should deviate so strangelv from the plain fact, and they can only suppose that they are unaware of the story of the negotiaions The reply denied the allegations that Germans abroad were illtreated.
