THE FRANKTON MUNICIPAL BAND.

To the Editor. Sir,—As per advertisement in your valued paper, there is a meeting called for the purpose of resuscitating the above institution. 1 'Vould like to extend a hearty invitation to all contesters and brass players. The Frankton Council have been most generous to this band, and with the co-operation of the residents it should make good. There is an old truism that a town is judged by the character of its educational institutions, and 1 am sure the people of the Junction will bear this in mind and show by (heir attendance that they mean their band to succeed. It is on the tapis that the band will attend Te Awamutu and Napier contests, so 1 nave no doubt this will act us an incentive to any players that mav be in the district.—Thanking you in anticipation,—l am, etc., THUS. DONOVAN, Bandmaster.
