FARMERS AND PARTY SYSTEM
AN ACTIVE CAMPAIGN. By Telegraph. —Press Association. Auckland, Thursday. The Farmers' Conference discussed the Auckland remit advocating the appointment of a committee to consider and draft a scheme of government by an elective executive for New Zealand, in order that the Farmers' Union may enter on an active campaign to bring their principles clearly before the electors. The motion was rejected in favour of an amendment expressing the opinion that an elective executivo is preferable to the party system as it at present exists.
