AUCKLAND MARKETS. Messrs Alfred Buckland and Sons reprt:—Our weekly fat stock market was held on Tuesday, June 2 (owing to Wednesday, June 3, being a public holiday), when we yarded 318 beef. The demand was steady, but values were slightly easier. Choice ox sold to 32s Gd, prime ox £1 8s Gd to £1 10s, cow and heifer 23s to II 7s 6d, steers ranged in price from £7 2s Gd to £l7 2s Gd, cows and heifers £4 7s Gd to £9, 14 well fatted steers, trom Mr Alex. Orr, Morrinsville, averaged £l4 13s sd, two two year steers from same seller brought £ll 17s Gd, eight steers from Mr W. J. Thompson, Te Awamutu, averaged £l2 Gs 3d, and eight st.'ers from Mr C. G. Robertson, Waiuku, averaged £l2 2s Gd. The 56 calves were better worth. Heavy suckers £4 to £4 l2s, medium suckers £2 10s to £3 ss, others £1 10s to £2 23, smalt and fresh dropped 3s to £1 lis There was a full yarding of sheep Values were about 2s per head lower than quoted last week. Extra prime heavy wethers £1 8s to £1 10s, prime £1 4s 3d to £1 7s, others £1 Is 3d to £1 3s 9d, prime ewes (no heavyweights penned) £1 Is 9d to £1 4s, others 13s Gd to XX (2299 yarded). Lambs came forward in increased numbers, and sold on a par with last report. Heavy to 19s Gd, good 17s 3d to 18s 3d, others 13s 3d to lGs 9d. (514 sold). The 128 pigs met with a smart rise. Light baconers to £3 is, large porkera £2 Gn to £3 Is, lighter £1 18s to £2 3s, small £1 6s to £1 16s, slips 19s to £l, weaners 7a Gd to 10s Gd. Main, Tamahere, averaged £1 7s 9d, hoggets sold at from 17s 3d to £1 Is 9d, others 14s to 17s. Pigs were yarded in usual numbers. Baconers £3 to £3 lis, porkers £1 lis to £2 17s, slips 17s to £1 4s, weaners 6s to 15s. Mesrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having held their usual fat stock sale at Westfield on Tuesday, as under:—Beef: A moderate yarding. Prices were on a par with last week's rates. Choice pens of extra prime ox sold at equal to 13s. Ordinary prime ox made 28s to 295, cow and heifer beef was a shade higher, and sold at equal to 20s to 28s per 1001b. Veal: A small yarding, and prices were firmer all round. Heavy runners made up to £4 12s, choice suckers made 38s to 495, small suckers 28s to 355, others 5s to 18s.. Mutton: A large yarding and prices were lower all round. Extra heavy wethers fetched 28s Od to 30s, medium weight wethers 20s to 28s, unfinished 23s Od to 25s Od, extra heavy ewes made up to 28s Od, medium weight ewes 22s to 235, unfinished 14s to 17s. Lamb: A moderate yarding. Heavy woolly tegs made up to 19s, medium sized 14s to 15s Od, small 13s to 13s 9d, heavy shorn 15s to 17s Od, medium 14s to 14s 9d. Pork: A moderate yarding, and prices were on a par with last weeks rates. Baconers made £2 12s to £3 4s, heavy porkers made 35s to £2 os, light porkers 28s to 34m.
