EVIDENCE OF VIOLENCE. By Telegraph. Press Association. Christchurch, Saturday. The police received information yesterday that Hendolina Heapy, living at West Oxford, died at 7 o'clock under circumstances which they consider appear to be a case for an inquiry. Dr Bagley was called in on Wednesday night by a man named J. Uri«k. There were bloodstains on the clothing, large bruises on the face and jaw, and the tongue was bitten through. The woman was insensible till her death.
