TARANAKI MATCH. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Thursday. The following are the principal scores in the Taranaki Match, 1000 yds, ten shots:— Rifleman E. CHAMPION TEAMS MATCH. WON BY OPAKI No. 1. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Thursday. The weather was bright for the Champion Teams Match this morning, with a gusty rear wind, which made shooting somewhat uncertain. Twenty-four teams entered, and Opaki No. 1, comprising Mcintosh, Bolton, Feast, G. Hyde and Cameron, shot into first place. The ranges were 300, 500 and 600 yards seven shots. The leading results were:— Opaki No. 1 467 Christchurch 458 Ohura 449 Suburbs No. 1 449 Taumarina 448 Auckland City 446 The camp commandant, Colonel Collins, has issued an order of the day in which he expresses his appreciation of the conduct of the competitors and the good feeling existing between them and the staff throughout the meeting. The final for the championship commences at 2.30 p m. today. Hon. K. H. Rhodes will represent the Government at the distribution of prizes. The United Service Teams Match, 300, 500 and 600 yards, seven shots, resulted: Rifle Clubs' team 910 Territorials 893 N.Z. Staff 855 The Colonial Ammunition Company's Cup was won by Wellington Suburbs Rifle Club for the best aggregate at long distances. The District Champion Shield trophy for the champion team was I won by Opaki No. 1.
