AMERICAN AVIATOR KILLED. PASSENGER’S MIRACULOUS ESCAPE. deceived 5.5 p.m., 22nd. New York, 21. Ensign Billingsby fell from 1600 ft from -mid-air into Chesapeake Bay. His body has not been found. Lieutenant Towers, who was a passennger, clung to the machine, and was carried under, but rose to the surface and was rescued in a state of nervous collapse. The machine overturned in mid-air, throwing Ensign Billingsby out. A REPAIRER’S INCOMPETENCE. London, June 21. The Inquiry Committee of the British Aero Club, after an inquiry into the fall which resulted in the death of Lieutenant Arthur last month, found that the accident was due to faulty repairs by an uneonscientious or incompetent workman.
