RATES TO AUSTRALIA

Melbourne, February 3

Mr Frazer, Postmaster-General, has returned from New Zealand. The most important scheme he discussed with the Hon. R. H. Rhodes related to the wireless stations. Mr Frazer considers that it ought to be possible to transmit messages from Australia to New Zealand by wireleess at 2d a word, the present rate being did. Definite proposals were made to Mr Rhodes regarding communication with other parts of the world. The proposals included cheapening rates of postal notes. No arrangement was reached in the matter.
