'1 WO MONO SCOTTISH FURCHASES. Two more fashionably bred Scottish Clydaedales, are about to find a home in New Zealand. The animals have neen purchased in Scotland by Mr John Ewan, of Drummond, Southland, from the stud of Mr T. Furdic Somerville, Sandilands, Larnarkshire. One of the Clydesales is the successful breeditij; stallion Ardirnsersay Prince, 13280, now tight years old. lie is got by the Cawdor Cup champion Prince Alexander, 8899. one of lire last foals, and one of the host, left hy Merryton Prince of Wales. (173. The dam of Ardimereay Prince was got by the famous Baron’s Pride, 9122, and his granddam was a marc hy a son of Darnley, 222 namely, Knight of Lothian, *1 -180. Mr Ewan’s new purchase thus las in him the linest slrans of blood known to the Clydesdale world. He is described aa bigtized dark-culouied burse, with splendid feel and legs, and he is a guy and true mover. Ardimeraay Prince was sold at a lung price at the Hatton sale, and since then, he has been very popular with breeders, n.d his stock have done well in the showyard and at public auction. A yearling by him was sold recently fur £9O. Quite a number of others have made much more money. Accompany ing this horse is a four-year-old mare got hy Scotland’s Choice, 13732, out of a dam hy Friuo of Hlacon, 10837, with a granddarn by Baron’s Fride.
