A ROTHSCHILD WEDDING

A ceremony, impressive in its significance of wealth and power, took place at the Central Synagogue, Hallam street, W., when Baton Alphonse von Rothschild, son ot Baron Albeit von Roihschdd, of Vienna, was married to Miss Clarice Adelaide Sebag Montefiorc, only daughter of Mr Edmund Sebag Monleiiore, of Bryanston Square. She was attended by two little trainbearers, Master Owen Sebag-Monte-bore, who wore a Gainsborough “Blue Boy” suit, and Miss Fould Springer, in a Romney frock with a big b ! ue sash. The ceremony lasted about threequarters of an hour. The bridegroom, in accordance with Jewish custom, stamped on a glass with his heel, breaking it, as a symbol that his past life was done with, The service consisted of the 84th and Icflth Psalms, which were chanted in Hebrew, an address and the pronouncement of the Hebrew marriage contract, followed by seven benedictions. The synagogue was exquisitely decorated with white chrysanthemums and festoons of evergreens swung from pillar to pillar, round which clustered showers of pink carnations. There were ton elder bridesmaids; Miss Sebag-Montdlore, Miss von Goldschmidt Rothschild. Miss Spielmann, Miss Stella Ricardo, Mies N. Sebag-Montefiore, Miss iris Bennett, Miss Troyte Bulloch. Miss N. Waley, Alias P, Behrens and MissJ. Hare. They wore Romney gowns ot white chiffon and satin, with blue sashes and large picture hats adorned with ong white ostrich feathers. The Rev. Michael Adler performed the ceremony. Baron Luuis von Rothschild acted os best man to his brother.
