The National Geographical Society of America has accepted the Pea y Club’s invitation to join in the Antarctic expedition, and a campaign to raise funds will be started immediately. Received 8.45 a.m., 9th. New York, February 9. Commander Peary has received 10,000 dollars of public subscriptions. He declared that he would deposit it to forward the Antarctic race with oar British cousins, than whom no finer foeraen existed in the world. The Roosevelt would be the ship used, and the personnel of the expedition will be the same as Commander Peary’s to the Arctic, with the exception of Commander Peary himself.
