Tennis Championships.

Sydney, November 21. Brookes and Wilding won the Championship Doubles by 6 3, 6—2, 4-6, 6—3. Melbourne, November 22. Owing to rain play in the championships was delayed till the afterneon, when the courts were slippery. Interest in the double; match drew a large attendance. Early in the play it was apparent that the Americans were suffering from the muggy heat. A successsion of faults giving the Australians a good lead, and they gained the first three games. Brookes and Wilding both played brilliantly throughout, working together like clockwork. The third set was exciting, the Americans playing beautiful tennis, their volleying being especially brilliant. In the final set the* Australians had all their own way, and won the championships amid great cheering.
