CLEARING SALE AT RUKUHIA. At Rukuhia, on Saturday, 21st inst., we held a clearing sale on behalf of Mr Ralph Allen. Full mouth ewes in wool, with over 100 per cent, good lambs, 17s 4d; d.f. plough, £l-1: waggon, £25; tine harrows, £4 7s 6d; other implements, tools, and furniture, at usual rates. HAMILTON HORSE SALE. At Hamilton, on Wednesday and Thursday, 18th and 9th, we held our annual Hamilton spring horse fair, when we offered 530 unbroken and broken draught horses and light horses. Competition was not keen, and although a large number of draughts were required, prices showed a further fall. Hacks and light harness horses were plentiful, but the ideas of value between seller and buyer in many cases were too far apart to give any prospect of a deal. The contracting plant of Messrs Riley and Robertson sold fairly well. Nine tip drays, £5 to £ls 10s; disc harrows, £4 to £9 ss; tine harrows, £2 to £3 10s; chain harrows, £3 15s; Oliver ploughs, £2 to £3 10s; spring carts, £7 to £1); heavy draughts, G to S years old, £25 to £35; medium draughts, £32 to £3O; medium draughts, 3 years old, £lB to £24; well paced good hacks, £ls to £2l; useful hacks and stock horses, £8 to £l2 10s; good reliable buggy horses, £l2 to £l9; light spring cart horses, £l4 to £l7; ponies and others, £G downwards. LONDON CABLES. Messrs Dalgetj and Co., Ltd., Hamilton, have received the following cable from their London house, under date 19th inst: —

Wheat: The market is quiet. Resales made at 36s 9d for shipment during December and January.

Frozen Meat: The demand for New Zealand lamb is limited. We quote New Zealand prime crossbred lamb, Canterbury heavy, 4£d; light. sjd; prime crossbred North Island lamb, heavy, 4Jd; light oid.

Demand for New Zealand mutton is limited. We quote: New Zealand prime crossbred mutton, heavy, Canterbury, 3id; light, -Id; New Zealand prime crojsbrcd North Island mutton, heavy, 3j|d; light, 3Jd. Demand for New Zealand beef is nil. Prices nominal. Prices are weaker for New Zealand lamb and for New Zealand mutton weak. The demand for Australian lamb is limited. We quote: Australian good average quality crossbred lamb, heavy, 4Ad; light, 4,td; Australian prime crossbred mutton, heavy, 2Jd; light, 3id. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., have received the following cablegram from their London house: Tallow: We quote present spot values for the following descriptions of tallow: Good mutton, 325; good beef, 30s Gd; mixed 2Ss 9d; market lower tendency. Pearlshell: The sale was the "best for years, 4320 cases being offered, and sold at an average advance of XI, except West Australian, which is Ills dearer.
