Political Parties.

Responding to the toast of "The Ministry" at a complimentary social to Mr Baume, M.P., the Hon, Mr Fowlds said, with reference to the recent talk of coalition, there was no reason why the Liberal party should coalesce with a small party like the Opposition. Some members of the Opposition admitted they would have great difficulties in forming a Ministry from their ranks even if they returned from the polls wich a majority, while the Government party could form two or three Ministries from its ranks. Socialism was only a party cry. The aim of the Government was to make progress along sound lines.
