Ngaruawahia Sports.

The first sports meeting of the Ngaruawahia Sports Club was held on the football ground yesterday, after being postponed from Empire Day. There were over 200 present.. The following are the results: — Maiden Handicap, 100 yds: S. Runciman 1, G. Calder 2. Six started. Hurdle Race, 220 yds: C. Humphreys 1, T. Edwards 2, J. Cogswell 3. Four started.

Mr. P. Duffill sen., acted as starter and gave every satisfaction, while Mr H. J. Wright St. Clair filled the duties of secretary. Mr A. Niccol judged, and although there were some very close finishes his decisions were never questioned.
