Splendid weather for harvesting and turnip sowing is being experienced, consequently satisfactory progress is being made in spite of the scarcity of labour. Although some very good pat crops are to be seen, most fields arc very light, and a new disease is reported from Te Uku which causes the oats to go yellow and stops the growth. Potatoes are growing luxuriantly, and should the blight, which is slightly in evidence, hold off a little longer, yields will be unusually h^avy. Mrs Lumber, an old lady of SI years of age had the misfortune to sprain her ankle as the result of a fall whilst going down an incline to the beach a few clays ago. The euchre party and dance held on New Year's night under the of the Raglan Tennis Club was a very enjoyable as well as successful affair, and must have considerably lightened the debt attached to that institution. The prize takers were: Mrs Newton, Kawhia Ist prize, Mrs O'Sullivun, booby prize; Mr J. Kellet, Ist prize, Mr F. Moon, booby prize.
