The report declares that the association will be able to checkmate the high tide of Trade Union Socialism, which, according to the association, is “recruited by boycotting, terrorism, and blackmail.’’ The Spectator suggests that, with r a view to unitedly fighting Socialism, Free Traders and Tariff Reformers should agree to submit their differ' ence to a Royal Commission. The Leicester Liberal Association has resolved to combat the Socialist party.
