Bv way of a counterblast, it is intended by the Farmers’ Union that whereever the Minister of Lands speaks on the land question he shall be followered by one or more members of the union, for the purpose of rebutting his remarks. The union campaign will open next week at Pahiatua, where a trio of speakers will give addresses. Subsequently meetings are to be held in Eketahuna, Masterton, Carterton, and backblocks of Pongaroa, At a later stage, the campaign is to bo taken into Orua Valley, and the Upper Rangitikei, West Coast, and Hawke’s Bay. A campaign, is also being planned out for the South Island. Every farmer in New Zealand is to receive a copy of the union’s manifesto on the Land Bill.
