Mr Greenslade, M.H.R., wrote that •1600 had been granted towards the rection of the new hospital buildings. OUTSIDE PATIINTB. Correspondence in reference to a »atient sent to the hospital from totorua resulted in a letter from the Government Balneologist in which le quoted the following, received from Jr McGregor:—“ As Rotorua is not in my hospital, the Government is reiponsible for the treatment and naintenance of such cases. In the iresent case, if the man is not suitable or an old man’s home, but requires xospital treatment, he should be sent ,o the hospital at Hamilton!, and this lepartment will pay the cost. We lave an item on the estimates every rear ** maintenance of destitute persons rom thermal springs district,” to meet mch cases."—Mr Chepmell was glad hat at last the Government acknowlidged this liability. The Board had >een kept in the dark and were not iroperly treated.—Letter received. The treasurer’s report was read the inancea of which amounted to £4245 4s Id.
