Thb New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company (Limited) report: Horses: On Friday, at the Durham Yards, horses were yarded in average numbers and were in good demand. Heavy draughts sold at from £26 to £3B 10s, medium do. £l6 15s to £29, books and light harness horses £8 10s to £2l, weeds £2 10s to £6, tax-cart £l2 10s, sulky £B. Cattle : At the Newmarket Yards on Tuesday dairy and store stock were yarded in usual numbers. Beef was penned in full quantities, prices ruling up to last week’s rates, oxen selling to 22s per 1001b, cows to 20s. Steers sold at from £5 15s to £lllos, cows £4 17s 6d to £8 6s. A draft of 30 steers from Mr P. W. Manning averaged £lO 16s 9d. Dairy cows sold at from £4 10s to £7, empty cows £1 16s to £2 16s, calves 15s to £1 7s. Sheep: The Newmarket Yards were well tilled on Tuesday, and sheep of all descriptions sold at late advanced rates. Wethers sold at from 19s 6d to £1 6a 9d, ewes 16s 9d to £1 3s, hoggets 15a to 19s 9d. Pigs: Porkers sold at from £1 6s to £2 12s, weaners 4s 6d to 10s, baconers £2 16s to £3 6s. HidesWe quote —Prime ox, Bid to 9fd; extra stout ox, 7|d to 8d; stout do., 6|d to 7id; medium do., 6d to 6id j light do., 5Jd to sfd; cow, best lines g|d to s|d, good &4d to s|d; stags’, 4d to 4|d i kips, 6id to 6d; calfskins, fijd to 6sd; damaged hides, 4d to 4 jd. Sheepskins: Market firm. Best butchers’ skins, large 6s 6d to 7s 6d, -medium 4s 6d to 5s 6d, small 3a to 3s 9d. Tallow: Market firm. Best mixed, up to 23s 8d; good, 20s 6d to 22s fid; seconds, 17s fid to 19s 3dj rough fat, lid per lb. Cowtails, Is fid doz. Bones, £4 15s. Horsehair, Is 4d to Is 6Jd per lb.

Butter; Prime separator is in fair demand at 10id. Cheese: Prime factory, 6*d. Kauri gum: All qualities, excepting poor and medium white, are in good demand at last week’s prices.
