We quote : Heavy draughts, .£3B IDs to £4l; medium do., .£lB 10s to .£88; hacks and light harness sorts, £lO 5a to £3l; weeds, £3 6s to £7 ; tax cart, £l2. On Thursday we held a special sale of dairy cows, heifers and bulls, when wo had a good muster, all dairy stock selling at improved rates.. Dairy cows sold at from £4 5s to £H tus; do., heifers, £3 10s to £7 ; bulls, £3 10s to £l2 12s (for a bull bred by Mr W. Hamilton, Parahakau). Cattle: At the Newmarket yards on Tuesday there was a fair muster of dairy and store stock yarded, which sold at Into rates. Beef was in average supply, and although bidding was scarcely up to last week, quotations are tho same. Steers sold up to 25s per 1001b; cow, 19s to 325. Oxon sold at from £i‘> os to £ll 5s ,- cows, £4 to £7 10a. Dairy cows sold at from £3 10s to £(J 15s; empty cows, £1 18s to £3 10s; calves, 17s to £1 IGs. Sheep were yarded in usual numbers at Newmarket on Tuesday and m«t a ready sale, wethers selling at from £1 Is to £1 12s 9d ; ewes, £1 Is lo £1 8s 9d ; hoggets, 15s Gd to £1 2s 3d, Lamba, in fully supply, sold well at from 10s 9d to 15s 9d. The advertised store ewes realised IGs 3d. A draft of 180 wethers in wool averaged £1 12s 2d. Pigs : Porkers sold at from 17s (id to £2 2a; weaners, 7s to IDs 9d ; baconers, £2 to £3 2s. We submitted a largo catalogue of hides, skins, etc. on Tuesday, all linos meeting with keen competition. Hides: Market firm. We quote;— Prime ox, 7§d to 8d; extra stout, GJd to 7.jd ; stout do.. Maize: Owing to Sydney demand tho price baa advanced to 4s. Seed maize is not procurable except at fancy prices. Oats sold freely this week at 3s 4d c.i.f., but since the market has firmed up to 3s 5d c.i.f., with tho possibility of a further rise. Chaff: Selling at £5 5a to £5 10s. Potatoes are again getting short in supply and the market is advancing. Good Hobarts, £l3 XOs ; Americana, £l3 Butter; Prime separator, 9d to Old; good, 8;{ d. Cheese; Market very firm. Oats, Tasmanian white feeding, 3s ; Victorian Algerian, 3s 9d to 2s 10s ; New Zealand Cartons, 3s 4s; B grade, 3s 2d to 3s 3d. Barley, English, 2s lid to 3s ; malting, 3s Od to 4s. Maize, choice, 5s Gd. Bran, 1 lid. Peas, Prussian bine, 4s 4d to 4s Gd. Potatoes: Circular Heads, £9 5b to £9 15s. Butter, Oid to XOJd. Cheese, sjd to Gd. Bacon, 5Jd to 7id.
