Tokio, November 8 Owing to the failure of the silk cocoon and of the rice crops great famine prevails in Fukushima, Miyagi and Iwate. Over one million of the population are on the verge of starvation. London, November 8 The Loudon press expresses the hope that the British people will extend practical sympathy to the famine-stricken sufferers in Japan.
