EARTHQUAKE IN ITALY. Rome, September S. A violent earthquake occurred throughout Italy to-day, causing much damage to districts widely apart, and causing much alarm. Many fatalities are reported. At Monteleone, in the province of Perugia, 127 miles north of Rome, the Pizzo Martirano was completely destroyed by the violence of the earth, tremors. Seven persons were killed and many were rendered homeless by the destruction of their dwellings. The gaol was wrecked and 27 prisoners were seriously injured.
