Procs.rps3 Society —The uwil monthly meeting of the Huntly Progress Society was held in the district aehool on Tuesday evening, the President (Mr E. S. Wright) iu the chair. Correspondence was read from the Railway Department promisiui: to consider the provision of a clock outside the station buildings, and to enquire into the necessity for cutting down the willows below the point where Mr Pearee's trap (which was run into by a locomotive) was totally destroyed. After some discussion the following resolutions were passed : attention of the Minister for Public Works lie called to the urgent necessity for a bridge across the Waikato at Huntly, and that Messrs Massey and Lang, M's.H.R., with other members of the Legislature, be requestor] to support the Society in this effort; {2) That the Road Hoard be respectfully requested to form, where necessary, and to repair the footpaths in the township ; and (3) That the attention of the authorities be directed to the dangerous position of the eat tie yards at the railway station, and that the Secretary be instructed to point out that Harrison's old siding would prove a most suitable place for new yards, which could be built there at the minimum cost.

A quiet but pretty wedding was celebrated in St. Paul's (Anglican) Chnroh on Tuesday morninE, when Mr Tbenus Carlyon and Miss Lizzie Tunny were united in the bonds of matrimony by the Vicur, the Rev. The bride who was beautifully attired iu a dress of white corded silk with wedding veil and wreath of orange blossoms and while ehilf'on hat with white feathers, was attended by two little britlemaids, Misses Fdua Pritchnrd and Alma Tattoo, who were prettily dressed in white, while the bridegroom was assisted by Mr (.'. Maxwell. Miss Housley presided at the organ. After the ceremony the guests repaired to the residence of the bride's parents! where a sumptuous breakfast was served.
