RAILWAY VOTES.

Tnn Council anrl the Chamber of Commerce met to-day in conference with the representatives of the Main Tru»k*'and North Auckland Railway Leagues to consider the votes for the northern railways. The votes were regarded as altogether inadequate, but in view of the fact that a joint conference of Railway Leagues had been convened for to-night, uo action was taken except to recommend to-night's coufereuce to consider the advisability of asking the Mayor to call au indignation meeting of citizens.
